Dr. Michael S. Wong, a 4th generation Sacramento native, is a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in breast and body contouring, with special expertise in patients following significant weight loss. 

He received his bicoastal education with his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of California, Davis – East Bay, a two-year surgical research fellowship in the Surgical Metabolism and Nutrition Laboratory at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and his Plastic Surgery residency at Duke University.

Dr. Wong served as Director of Body Contouring After Weight Loss for over 18 years and Program Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency for over a dozen years at UC Davis. Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Wong is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons and is the past president of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. 

He is thrilled to bring his practice back home to Sacramento with Ideal Plastic Surgery, allowing him to care for the community he grew up with.
